Industrial sensors. Microwave level sensor

Microwave level sensors are designed to perform contactless continuous material level measurement (solid or liquid) in closed or open containers (including rivers and reservoirs).

The devices can be used in the chemical, metallurgical and fuel industries (oil, gas, electric, coal-mining, peat and in the electric power industry) for the following operations: measurement of the level of oil, water, other liquids, suspensions and granules in reservoirs and storage tanks, chemicals level control in reactors and water level measurement in the cooling systems on the power plants

Reflex-radar level sensor works on the technology of the pulse reflectometry. Electric impulses generated by the device spread across the sensitive element reaching the boundary between two media, reflect and there they are received by the measurement scheme, where the received signal processing and distance to the measured medium calculation take place.

The level sensor is resistible to the environment parameters change such as pressure, density and temperature. The device is supplied with a mount which can be installed according to the factual conditions on the place and can be fixed with special expansion screws or hoops. The level sensor can be set up in different metal or non-metal containers or pipelines.

Range 8-15m with an error +-1mm. Wide range of power voltage 9-36 V and temperature -40… +85. Recommended working voltage – 24 V.

The device uses the technology 80 GHz, which provides high resolution and stable detection. The sensor supplies the following interface types: four-wired system/Modbus RS485/Bluetooth DC24V+/GND/RS485B/RS485A/NB-IoT/two-wired system/ 4~20 мА/Bluetooth. Symbol transmission format is asynchronous serial communication format without parity bit, 8 data bits and stop bits.

Level sensor advantages

  • Contactless measurement
  • Low power (power nearly 1 Watt supports power supplies such as solar batteries and accumulators).
  • High accuracy and stable data, interference protection
  • Low service costs
  • Safe for a human body and environment
  • A level sensor is resistible to rain, snow, dust, light, water mist and inert gases
  • Can be integrated into the monitoring system and into emergency alert systems
