Kemerovo
In the city of Kemerovo, as part of the national Safe Quality Roads project, from 2022 to 2023, specialists from Sorb Engineering LLC have installed more than 200 Smartroad traffic sensors of the TMS.13 series, Type-25 and Type-35. This modern equipment not only improves road safety, but also helps to optimize traffic flow management in the urban agglomeration.
Smartroad microwave traffic sensors are designed for effective traffic intensity monitoring on different types of roads. Smartroad sensors use microwave detection technologies with continuous frequency modulation and high-speed digital signal processing.
The Smartroad T-35 traffic sensors of the TMS.13 series are capable of detecting up to 256 objects in the control zone at a distance up to 350 m and are intended for road sections with high traffic intensity. In its turn, the Smartroad T-25 traffic sensor of the TMS.13 series is designed for road sections with average traffic intensity and can simultaneously track up to 128 objects at a distance up to 250 m. The sensors listed above provide high measurement accuracy and reliable operation even in poor visibility conditions, in bad weather and at night.
During the project implementation special attention was paid to the creation of an adaptive control system for intersections, where more than 80 traffic sensors controlled by traffic light control points were installed. The main goal of such intersections is to optimize traffic on the roads of the city of Kemerovo, increase traffic capacity and reduce the risk of road traffic accidents. The creation of adaptive intersection management also is aimed to improve the efficiency of transport and transport infrastructure in the urban agglomeration.
The creation of an ITS in the city of Kemerovo is an important step in the development of transport infrastructure and in improving the quality of citizens` life. New technologies and innovations make it possible to improve traffic conditions, ensure a high level of safety and increase the efficiency of the transport complex.
